Today is my last full day in Northern Ireland, and I have to admit, I am sad to be leaving. However I am exhausted and ready to get back to my beloved West Sussex and the downs. Meeting was restful, and our little tour of the history behind the meeting house, was well received. The meeting house itself seems to have a vista for the ladies to walk up to the meeting house undercover, indicating that this place was once very rich, much to our tour guides distaste.
We saw the last grand Quaker house in Ireland, and it's very well preserved stables. After these sights we walked to the bridge, to hear about how linen was once bleached in these parts, and how a young Quaker man over 200 years ago broke his gun so it didn't fall into paramilitary hands and kill another Irishman. One small act towards none violence...
